Located in the bustling Bloomsvale Shopping Gallery, Mini Tanker has quickly become a favorite for diners seeking quality and flavor. This vibrant eatery, an offshoot of Extra Super Tanker, surprises patrons with a stellar menu that showcases hints of authentic cookery. Highlights include the exceptionally fresh prawn dumplings and generous siew mai, both lauded for their home-cooked essence. The standout dish—a deep fried prawn and pork bean curd roll—is a revelation that leaves diners craving more.
The atmosphere strikes a balance between casual comfort and nostalgic charm, reminiscent of childhood mahjong nights. While the vibrant energy can lend a noisy edge, attentive service shines through, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. As customer reviews suggest, signature dishes like the braised pork with soft bone and expertly crafted fried rice consistently hit the mark.
However, it’s worth noting a few critiques, including minor lapses in ventilation and occasional inconsistencies in dish flavors, like the seabass. But overall, the quality and dedication to taste at Mini Tanker justify its pricing. Whether you’re indulging in their creamy teh c ice or adventurous dim sum offerings, Mini Tanker is poised to provide a delightful dining adventure.

Reviews for Mini Tanker - Bloomsvale Shopping Gallery
Review highlights
Based on 100 reviewsMini Tanker at Bloomsvale Shopping Gallery is widely recognized for its high-quality and flavorful food, often compared favorably to its parent brand. Signature dishes such as prawn dumplings, siew mai, fried rice, and braised pork receive consistent praise for freshness and taste. The restaurant's attentive and polite service is frequently highlighted, contributing positively to the dining experience. While the environment is described as busy and somewhat noisy, it aligns with the vibrant atmosphere expected from a popular dim sum spot. Some feedback points to minor inconsistencies, such as portion sizes on certain dishes and occasional issues with condiments. Overall, Mini Tanker appeals to diners seeking premium dim sum and classic Chinese dishes in a lively setting.
Offshoot of Extra Super Tanker. We were surprised by the quality of food here. Very quality food justified the steep pricing, everything tasted like made with love. We had the prawn dumplings (prawn so fresh taste like just died), Siew mai (tasted home made and generous size), char siew rice noodle (portion is quite small for this, limited meat inside), lohmaikai (tasty sauce and tender rice), deep fried yam puff (this was quite average, but I’m biased because I generally like yam puff), pan fried pork buns (surprisingly good, but it was more bun than meat than I’d have liked), and deep fried prawn and pork bean curd roll (really mind blowing! Couldn’t get enough.) Special shoutout to their deep fried prawn and pork bean curd roll () and specialty XO sauce Siew Bao. The latter recommended this by their staff midway through our meal, it was surprisingly tasty, really different from normal Siew Bao! Sauce is light colored and served fresh like just out of oven. Even our drinks (teh c ice) was frothy and thick. Never tasted so good teh c ice in my life. Not sweet and very creamy. Highly recommend this. This place opens nice and early. Casually decorated unlike extra super tanker. The theme reminds me a bit of mahjong blocks. Bring me back to childhood. Good place. CW Wong approved.
Food is good. The standard Xiu Mai is very high quality. Beef ball so so to my taste. Love the lamb pot and tofu. Both are very premium. My drink iced cham is so so. Like most mentioned, service is attentive, environment is kinda noisy crowded and busy vibe. But this is expected. Nothing to blame.
Not my first time having dinner here, and overall the food is good. Service is excellent – the captain and young cashier were very polite and took time to explain the dishes. Food highlights: • Fried rice – consistently good • Braised pork with soft bone – my favourite, always tasty • Vegetables – well cooked • Wine chicken – flavorful • Noodles – a little on the sweet side • Braised roasted pork with leek tofu – decent • Seabass – flavour was lacking, could be improved Only downside this visit: the exhaust fan wasn’t working well, so the whole restaurant smelled oily. Hopefully this can be fixed soon. Still a pleasant dining experience overall, will come back again.
Had a quickie brunch here as I was craving for dim sum , it was good except the chili sauce tasted like stale sourish sauce and it irks me !
I’m here for CNY dinner and we order Ala carte. So overall we order the fried rice which was super yummy and got wok qi. Then the wan tan hor also got wok qi and taste wise was delicious. Sweet and sour pork was also good. Other dishes were delicious and wasn’t any complaints. I will definitely come back again.
I quite like this place, it was not very busy when we visited on Sunday. The staff were attentive, service was great. The food was nice. The presentation was appetising. The atmosphere was also very cozy and you don’t feel it’s very packed.
